Artists invited to apply for Exhibitions in the Municipal Gallery, dlr LexIcon

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is delighted to invite proposals for its 2024-26 visual art exhibition programme for the Municipal Gallery, dlr LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire. The callout is open to professional artists, curators, and arts organisations to apply. Proposals for solo, two person, or group shows are welcome. Full details on how to apply are available on the website and the closing date for applications is Tuesday 14th March 2023 at 1pm.

Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Cllr Mary Hanafin said: “The Municipal Gallery, dlr LexIcon, opened in December 2014 and since then has shown a range of exhibitions, with visitor numbers averaging 6,000 per show. This is a fantastic opportunity for artists to apply to exhibit their work in this great space.”

Chief Executive of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Frank Curran added: “The aim of the programme for the Gallery is to provide opportunities for our diverse public to engage with the visual arts as creators, spectators and participants. All the exhibitions include workshops, talks, tours and other events for all ages. We aim to programme a minimum of two separate exhibitions from this call envisage that one exhibition opportunity will be for an emerging artist.”
 
The Arts Office will host an online briefing session on Thursday 9 February at 11.00 am, and an in-person briefing session in the Gallery on Tuesday 21 February at 6.00pm to introduce the space and answer any specific questions. To book a place for this, please email Carolyn Brown..
