10 talented students recognised with Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and IADT Sponsored Sports Scholarships
Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) have proudly awarded the first-ever sponsored sports scholarships to 10 qualified students. This funding opportunity celebrates these exceptional student-athletes and the role that sports play in their lives.
Councillor Mary Hanafin, Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council said:
These exceptional individuals have demonstrated not only their athletic abilities but also their commitment to balancing their academic and extracurricular pursuits. Our aim with the Sports Scholarship is to enhance their sporting achievements and assist them to excel at the highest level in their sport of choice.
The recipients come from a diverse array of sports categories including football, volleyball, kickboxing, hockey, taekwondo, hurling, surfing, and rugby and were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants and stood out as top-performers both in the classroom and in their chosen sport.

We are proud to celebrate the achievements of these exceptional student-athletes who have worked hard to excel in both academics and sports. Participating in a sport can impart numerous benefits, making friends, getting away from the stresses of college life, and most importantly, good for our mental health.
