Social Housing Delivery

We have a strong commitment to providing new homes and housing supports for people who are unable to meet their accommodation needs through their own means.    Pathway 2 of Housing for All has a stated objective  to deliver 10,000 social housing homes each year to 2030, with 9,500 of those being new-build. We are currently finalising the Housing Delivery Action Plan 2022-2026 which will outline anticipated delivery of social homes by us through direct build, turnkey developments, Part V and through working in partnership with  Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) and the Land Development Agency (LDA).

The efficient use of existing housing and the return to use of vacant properties is also a priority for us and we will do this through the Buy and Renew and Repair and Leasing schemes.

We will  work to maximise delivery of social housing through all mechanisms, including Mortgage to Rent, as well as acquisitions and leasing in limited circumstances.

We will work with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage,  AHBs, the LDA and other stakeholders to avail of every opportunity to make homes available for those who need them.
