Blackrock Walking Trail
Blackrock Walking Trail – an interactive digital StoryMap to help you explore the coastal charm and rich heritage of Blackrock. Developed by Blackrock Business Association, co-funded by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, the StoryMap features an easy walking trail starting at Blackrock Dart Station.
It highlights many of the things that make Blackrock special, ranging from coastal views and the lively Main Street to the Japanese-style kiosk of Blackrock Park and the 20th century Irish stained glass windows of St John the Baptist Church. Along the way, discover the village’s literary links, colourful history, and vibrant café culture—an inviting snapshot of what makes Blackrock a beloved destination.
Cabinteely Heritage Trails
Cabinteely Heritage Trails – an interactive digital StoryMap to help you explore the wide-ranging heritage of the Cabinteely area. Developed by Cabinteely Tidy Towns, with the support of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the Heritage Keepers programme, the StoryMap features a Cabinteely Village Looped Walk and a Heritage Walk from Lehaunstown Luas Stop to Cherrywood Luas Stop. It highlights over 20 heritage sites, ranging from prehistoric monuments and medieval churches to 18th-century estate features, early 20th-century landmarks, and key moments from Ireland’s revolutionary period.
Monkstown Heritage Walking Tour
The Monkstown Heritage Walking Tour is an interactive digital guide to help you explore the wide-ranging heritage of the Monkstown area. Developed by Monkstown Village Tidy District, co funded by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council as part of the Community Heritage Grant Scheme, the walking tour features a Heritage Walk from Monkstown Ring to Seapoint Bridge.
It highlights significant sites, stories, and points of interest across the area — from historic buildings and coastal features to long established neighbourhood landmarks. By combining clear visuals with concise historical information, the walking tour invites visitors to delve deeper into Monkstown’s past and discover how its landscape and identity have evolved over time.
As part of the walking tour, you can also join Dr Séamus Cannon for a summer stroll around Monkstown Village through a series of short heritage videos produced by Ferdia Durkin.
