Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Tidy Districts Applciations will be open for entries from the 18th of May to the 25th of June.  

 

The Tidy Districts programme offers Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council an opportunity to recognise and reward the voluntary efforts of residents’ associations, tidy district and tidy town groups to enhance their local environment.  

 

While Tidy Districts began with a focus on anti-litter, its brief has expanded over the years to recognise and encourage the contributions of communities in the areas of biodiversity, community engagement, waste prevention and climate action.  

 

Completed application forms should be returned or submitted between the 18th of May and 5pm, Thursday 25th of June, 2026.  

 

Once the competition is open, applications can be completed in two ways: 

 

  1.  online and submitted via the dlr submit portal at  https://submit.link/4T2

     

  2. Alternatively, you can download the pdf Application Form below and return by email to tidydistricts@dlrcoco.ie or by post to:

Who can apply?

Applications are invited from estate management groups, residential groups and towns or villages within Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. 

How do I enter the Tidy Districts awards?

There are 2 ways to enter the Tidy Districts awards:  

  1. Online through the dlr submit portal: https://submit.link/4T2 
  2.  
  3. By completing and returning the application form by:  
  • Email to tidydistricts@dlrcoco.ie or 
  • Post to Environmental Awareness Section, Infrastructure & Climate Change Department, County Hall, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, A96 K6C9. 
How are winners chosen?

Awards are given based on the results of an unannounced adjudicators visit that will happen during the months of July and August and the information provided on the application form. 

Celebration Award categories
  • These award categories are opportunities for awards and recognition outside of the main awards categories. 
  • This year's focus is on a visual celebration of the work of voluntary groups so be sure to include images of your work

  • Creates Wildlife and pollinator friendly areas, thereby supporting biodiversity in our county.  
  • Helps create a sense of community and local pride.
