Local Elections 2024
The Local Elections will take place on Friday, 7th June 2024. The Local Elections will see 40 Councillors elected on to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. These 40 Councillors represent the following 6 Local Electoral Areas (LEAs) in the County:
- Blackrock LEA (6 Councillors)
- Dundrum LEA (7 Councillors)
- Dún Laoghaire LEA (7 Councillors)
- Glencullen-Sandyford LEA (7 Councillors)
- Killiney-Shankill LEA (7 Councillors)
- Stillorgan LEA (6 Councillors)

Nominations Process - Becoming a Candidate in the Local Elections
The period for receipt of nominations to become a candidate in the Local Elections commences at 10:00am on Saturday, 11th May 2024 and ends at 12:00pm on Saturday, 18th May 2024.
If you intend to be a candidate in the upcoming Local Elections you are advised to contact us at returningofficer@dlrcoco.ie to make an appointment to have your nomination papers accepted by the Returning Officer at the offices of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

To have your photograph on the ballot paper it must be included with your nomination form. Details of the photograph requirements are included on page 5 of the nomination paper.
