As part of the centenary celebrations honouring the Tony-award-winning playwright, Hugh Leonard: A Life in Words celebrates one of Ireland’s greatest dramatists through conversation, staged readings and personal reflection. With a music and spoken word section from music-hall days, it brings together leading actors, directors, writers, journalists and scholars. The event explores Leonard’s wit, humanity and profound influence on Irish theatre. Featuring extracts from Da, Love in the Title, Home Before Night, and Rover and Other Cats, this promises an entertaining and evocative journey through Leonard’s remarkable life and work — and a chance to trip gracefully down memory lane.

This event is a collaboration between Dalkey Castle and Heritage Centre, and dlr Libraries, and funded by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.
