We're hiring Executive Planners
Join our Planning Department and help shape the future of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. We serve over 233,000 citizens and, in this role, you will play an important part in supporting sustainable development, enhancing communities and delivering key planning services across the County. Working as part of a professional team, you will contribute to the implementation of planning policy, the assessment of development proposals and the delivery of projects that influence how people live, work and travel.
What is an Executive Planner?
An Executive Planner is responsible for delivering a wide range of planning services within the Council. The role may involve Development Management, Planning Enforcement, Forward Planning and Sustainable Development, policy development, research, data analysis and the preparation of development plans and planning reports. Executive Planners work closely with colleagues, elected members, developers, public bodies and local communities to support the sustainable growth and development of the County. Strong analytical, organisational, communication and leadership skills are essential.
We are looking for someone with:
- An honours degree (Level 8 NFQ) in Planning.
- At least five years' satisfactory experience of planning work.
- A high standard of technical training and professional experience.
- A high standard of administrative experience.
- Strong IT skills, including knowledge of applications such as GIS, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- A full Category B driving licence is desirable.
