We're hiring Executive Engineers

Join our Engineering team and help deliver the infrastructure and services that support communities across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. We serve over 233,000 citizens and, in this role, you will play an important part in delivering capital projects, managing services and helping to shape the future development of the County. Working as part of a professional team, you will contribute to projects and services that improve the lives of residents, businesses and visitors.

What is an Executive Engineer?

An Executive Engineer works across a wide range of Council services and projects. The role includes managing and delivering capital projects, identifying infrastructure needs, overseeing the design and delivery of engineering works, managing contracts and budgets, and supervising staff. Executive Engineers work closely with elected members, community groups, contractors, government departments and other public bodies to help deliver high-quality infrastructure and services across the County.

We are looking for someone with:

• A degree in Engineering (Level 7 NFQ or higher) or an equivalent recognised engineering qualification.
• At least five years' satisfactory relevant engineering experience.
• A high standard of technical training and experience.
• A high standard of administrative experience.
• Knowledge of public service organisations or the ability to acquire such knowledge.
• A full Category B driving licence is desirable.
