We're hiring Brick and Stonelayers
Join our Housing Maintenance team and help us maintain and improve Council homes and properties across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. We serve over 233,000 citizens and, in this role, you will play an important part in ensuring our housing stock is safe, well maintained and fit for our residents. Working as part of a skilled maintenance team, you will contribute directly to the delivery of essential housing services that support local communities across the County.
What is a Brick and Stonelayer?
A Brick and Stonelayer works within our Housing Maintenance Section, carrying out repair, maintenance and construction work across Council homes and other properties. The role involves bricklaying, stonelaying, masonry repairs and general maintenance duties, working both independently and as part of a team. A strong focus on workmanship, health and safety, customer service and teamwork is essential.
We are looking for someone with:
- Have a reasonable standard of education sufficient to enable them to perform the job efficiently and effectively
- Hold a QQI Level 6 (NFQ) Advanced Certificate Craft (Brick and Stonelaying) or equivalent recognised qualification and have completed a recognised apprenticeship in Brick and Stonelaying and be a fully qualified craftsperson.
- After obtaining qualifications, candidates should have satisfactory Brick and Stonelaying experience
- Hold a full clean current driving licence in respect of Category B Vehicles or equivalent in the EU Model Driving Licence on the latest date for the receipt of completed applications.
