Role of the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Local Community Development Committee
The functions of the LCDC is to:
- Ensure effectiveness, consistency, co-ordination and avoid duplication of public funded programmes.
- Pursue co-ordination of all community development programmes.
In regard to these functions the Council provides administrative support for the work of the LCDC.
Membership of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown LCDC
The membership of the LCDC and the mechanism for selecting these members is prescribed in the legislation and guidance.
This membership comprises of a range of statutory and non-statutory socio-economic partners drawn from the Councils administrative area.

dlr Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP)
The purpose of the LECP, as provided for in the Local Government Reform Act 2014, is to set out, for a six-year period, the objectives and actions needed to promote and support the economic development and the local and community development of the relevant local authority area, both by itself directly and in partnership with other economic and community development stakeholders.

Public Participation Network (PPN)
The PPN was introduced following the enactment of the Local Government Act 2014. Representatives are nominated to participate in and inform Local Authority decision making structures. The dlr Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) has five PPN nominees. For further information on dlr PPN click here
Community Support Fund 2022
The Community Support Fund provides funding to support groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas, with their running costs such as utility or insurance bills, as well as with improvements to their facilities.
Details of the successful projects were announced on Wednesday the 21st of June 2023.
