As part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2020 Jonathan Reynolds will develop and test new ways in which young people with intellectual disabilities can continue to participate in music making whilst adhering to Covid 19 restrictions.

Working with arts and disability organisations Jonathan will find out what accessible online possibilities are out there and about new engaging ways of creating work.

Stemming from this research a new pilot project will be created with a small group of young people with intellectual disabilities, aiming to create a short piece of new music with lyrics, tempo and melody inspired by instances of happiness and positive emotion that have occurred for them during this unexpected pandemic.

Keep an eye here for updates and information as the project develops.

This commission is generously funded by Creative Ireland as part of dlr’s Cruinniú na nÓg 2020 and programmed by dlr Arts Office.
