Yes the council are responsible for the laying and cutting of grass in Shanganagh. Please contact the office at Dean’s Grange should you have any queries. Please note that it is cemetery policy not to lay grass until 1 year after an interment has taken place to allow for subsidence.

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the amount of coffin burials in a grave. It depends on the type of ground and other factors such as size of coffins etc.

Several small urns/caskets can be interred a grave.

1. Engage a monumental sculptor/stone mason. 2. This sculptor must then submit a drawing to the Office at Dean’s Grange specifying the exact measurements of the work he his going to carry out. 3.This drawing MUST be signed by the owner of the grave. If the registered owner is deceased, the relevant form must be signed by the next of kin of the deceased agreeing to the work being proposed. Proof of grave purchase, if purchased in the previous five years prior to application must also be provided. The same rule applies in the case of a replacement headstone, except there is no fee, as the foundation fees would already have been paid. 4. The only materials accepted by the Council are limestone, granite or marble. The cemetery foundation fee (for a single grave) is:​​​ ​€220 + VAT @ 13.5% Total Cost €249.70 for headstone only €370 + VAT @ 13.5% Total Cost €419.95 for headstone and kerbing €265 + VAT @ 13.5% Total Cost €300.78 for kerbing where headstone exists.  Please note that no kerbing is allowed in Shanganagh cemetery as it is a Lawn Cemetery or in “The Garden” section in Dean’s Grange Cemetery as this is also a lawned area.

Yes the council are solely responsible for the construction of the foundations.

No unfortunately the list for benches in Shanganagh cemetery is exhausted.

1. The grave number, or if this is not possible a date of death or burial of someone in the grave.
2.  Cheque/Postal Order (made payable to Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Co. Co.) for €210 + VAT @ 13.5% Total Cost €238.35. Debit/Credit Card transactions can be made in person in the Dean's Grange Cemetery Office.
3.  Whether you would like grey granite or white marble chippings.
4.  Your name, address and phone number so we can contact you when the work has been completed.

Féadfar go mbeidh litreacha ó neasghaol an úinéara de dhíth freisin ina gcuirfear in iúl nach bhfuil sé/sí i gcoinne an aistrithe, ach amháin má tá uacht ann ina gcuirtear a mhalairt in iúl. Sa chás sin, bíonn an uaigh mar chuid d’iarmhar an eastáit mura luaitear go sonrach í.

Yes the council tidies the grave after a burial has taken place. Should you have any concerns please contact the office at Dean’s Grange.

No Charge, unless extensive research is required.

The cost of interring cremated remains in an existing family grave and in a Cremation Plot in Shanganagh Cemetery is €400.00.  

The cost of placing cremated remains in the Columbarium Wall in Dean's Grange Cemetery is:  €500.00 + V.A.T. @ 13.5%
