Ongoing Projects

Shanganagh Park Phase 1

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council are seeking to upgrade Shanganagh Park to support the diverse use of the space by the community, while also ensuring this important resource continues to serve a growing local population into the future.

Works commenced in August 2025 - for completion in October 2026, to deliver the Shanganagh Phase 1 project to upgrade and consolidate the sports facilities in Shanganagh Park.  This project will provide, a full-sized GAA pitch, a shared cricket and baseball space, a 100m sprint track, improved access over the DART line, a calisthenics area, 3V3 basketball, additional seating, and agility play, while protecting the existing meadows, and enhancing the biodiversity of the site.

Currently we are focused on the final finishes (railings and site furniture) on the new access ramp over the dart.  We will also be undertaking improvements to the existing pedestrian access to St. Annes Park.  This entrance will be temporarily closed (24/08/26 - 07/09/26) to facilitate these works.  Alternative access will be available for the duration of these works, through the maintenance access gate.

The 100m sprint track, the play trail, the calisthenics and the 3v3 basketball court have recently opened to the public, and have been well received!  We are working hard to complete this corner in the coming weeks!
