Construction update - November 2025:

The contractor BAM has now commenced works on site and will be working primarily within ESB Network lands and at Blackthorn Road. A stop / go shuttle will be implemented on Blackthorn Road to allow construction of boundary walls, and this will be implemented week starting 17th November 2025.

A Road Closure on Blackthorn Road, between the junctions of Burton Hall Road and Heather Road is planned for 12 weeks starting end January 2026.  The exact dates will be furnished when confirmed.   A diversion route will be in place.

The purpose of the road closure is to ensure that the contractor can carry out utility diversions at Blackthorn Road in a safe manner, which would not be possible if the road remained open to traffic.  A copy of the Traffic Management Plan (TMP) is available to view below.  The diversion route is shown on the TMP.

Uisce Eireann’s contractor GMS will also be working in the vicinity and will be able to utilise the road closure and reduce traffic disruption.
