- A link from the new road above to the existing cul-de-sac at Arena Road
- Replacement of the signalised roundabout at Junction 14 with a signalised junction
- Construction of a new signalised junction on Blackthorn Road
- Improvements to pathways, cycleways, and crossings and improvement of lighting and the local public realm.

Construction update
Some works at Blackthorn Road have been delayed due to unforeseen extended lead-in time for public lighting poles, so the sequencing of the works has been amended to minimise any impact on the scheme timelines. It is anticipated that Blackthorn Road will be fully complete by end Q3 2026
So DLR’s contractor, BAM, has been concentrating on the mid-section of the scheme and at Fern Road. Good progress is being made with the assistance of our stakeholders and neighbours: Spirit Motors (Polestar); Storage Hub and Payzone (at Fern Road); and ESB Networks. Boundary wall construction is ongoing and utility diversions are progressing well.
Works at the roundabout at Leopardstown Road, (M50 Junction 14) will progress during the summer months to avoid the heavier traffic from September onwards.
