Lidia Jewloszewicz-Clarke - 2023 Musician in Residence

This year’s first dlr Musician in Residence awardee was Lidia Jewloszewicz-Clarke.

Lidia explored Dún Laoghaire and its unique culture through the medium of music with violinist Larissa O’Grady.

The two violinists who represent two vibrant European countries, Larissa O’Grady from Ireland, and Lidia Jewloszewicz-Clarke from Poland created and developed new work through this new artistic collaboration.

They premiered the new work with a free concert in the Municipal Gallery, dlr Lexicon, on Sunday 16 July 2023.

This contemporary violin duo delved into repertoire that represents where they came from as a starting point to create a brand new work inspired by their surroundings and experiences in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. Featuring a newly composed suite for dlr entitled “Reflections”.

The Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Musicians-in-Residence Scheme is jointly funded by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the Arts Council and is managed by Music Network.
