Mountains to Sea Writers Bursaries 2026: Phase 1

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council invites applications for the development and creation of new writing by mid-career and established writers. Emerging writers should apply under the Emerging Artist Bursaries.

Bursaries are funded through dlr Mountains to Sea and managed by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Arts Office.

Applicants must live or practice their artistic work in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.

Writers working in any genre may apply, this includes prose, novels, short story writing, poetry and playwriting.

Each bursary is for a total of €2,500 and funded work should take place between June to December 2025.

It is envisaged that 6 bursaries will be awarded and that they will be allocated to writers of varying career stages and a variety of writing genres.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council must be acknowledged on any work created or developed with the support of the bursary.
