Gallery Learning Programme Co-ordinator 2026 to 2027

dlr Arts Office is looking for a Gallery Learning Programme Co-ordinator. This will involve co-ordinating a series of workshops and events for the Municipal Gallery Programme, dlr LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire. The Learning Programme must appeal to all ages and abilities.

 

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County’s Municipal Gallery is located on Level 3 of dlr LexIcon in Dún Laoghaire. It is managed by the Council’s Arts Office. It showcases a diverse group of artists and creatives, from emerging to established.

Key Dates: 

  • The deadline for questions is 5pm, Thursday 18 July
  • The deadline for applications is 5pm, Monday 20 July
  • The period of work will be from August 2026 – November 2027; there will be an option to extend this for up to one year at the agreement of both parties.
What do we expect from the Gallery Learning Co-ordinator?
  1. To co-ordinate a public engagement series for visitors of all ages that loosely responds to the artists/themes that will be on show in the Municipal Gallery. The audience has been identified as library visitors, local residents, tourists/day visitors and the local arts community. The programme must have elements that appeal to all ages and abilities.
  2. To engage speakers, facilitators and artists for the events and workshops.
  3. To supply images and text for sharing/posting on social media, website and for fliers.
  4. To co-ordinate four Learning Programmes for the following time periods:
  • mid September - December 2026
  • late January - May 2027
  • April - July 2027
  • mid September - December 2027 

Please note that the number of events that may be programmed will be subject to the overall budget available.

What to include in this application?
  1. A C.V/s that outlines your experience and ability to create and co-ordinate an engagement programme in a gallery/museum/arts centre setting. 
  2. Create a sample programme for September 2026 - December 2026. Please include five different ideas for engagement (for example workshops, tours, events, talks and you may also have other ideas). Please consider children (5-7 year olds), a local arts audience, and creative workshops for adults when creating this sample.
  3. The name, role and contact details of two referees. Please make sure that one of these people has worked with you in a relevant work place.
