Applications Open: dlr Artist Mentorship Scheme 2026

dlr Arts office is delighted to offer a mentorship scheme for professional artists working in all artistic disciplines.

It is designed to support artists working in any discipline in furthering their career through advice, support, critique and coaching from a more established artist.

Up to 10 mentorships will be awarded with a payment of €1,400 to the mentor and €400 to the mentee to cover travel and subsistence. Both the mentor and the mentee will be required to supply their bank details for payment if the application is successful.

The mentee should provide a detailed plan for the proposed mentorship including what areas will be covered, the timescale, goals and objectives.

They will also need to state how the mentorship will be beneficial to the mentee's career.

Key dates:

  • The deadline for applications is 1pm, Wednesday 22 July.
  • Proposed activity should take place between September and December 2026.

The applicant should be the mentee with a letter/email of confirmation from the mentor.

Mentees must be living or practicing their art professionally in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. Mentors do not need to be from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.

Mentees will select their own mentors. If the mentee does not have a specific person in mind dlr arts has a list of artists interested in offering their services as mentors. This list can be requested by emailing cbrown@dlrcoco.ie

The mentee will be required to submit the following:

  • A mentorship plan.
  • CV's of the mentor and the mentee.
  • Samples of previous work.
  • A letter/email of confirmation from the mentor.
