Call for Artists, Creative and Wellbeing Practitioners for Cuairt agus Cultúr Programme 2026/27

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (dlr) County Council is looking for Artists, Creative and Wellbeing Facilitators/Practitioners for our 2026-27 Cuairt agus Cultúr Programme.

The programme supports creative and wellbeing activities in residential and day service centres in the County. This programme aims to nurture a meaningful and sustained creative engagement between an artist/practitioner and residents, day care centre attendees, families and staff of care settings within the County. Successful applicants will be matched to one local care setting.  

Cuairt agus Cultúr is a collaboration between dlr Age Friendly Programme, dlr Arts Office and dlr Library Service. It is funded by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the HSE. 

Key Dates: 

  • The deadline for questions is 5pm, 4 September.
  • The deadline for applications is 3pm, 9 September.
  • The period of work will be from August 2026 – November 2027; there will be an option to extend this for up to one year at the agreement of both parties.
What do we expect from the Creative/Wellbeing Practitioners?
  • To facilitate a series of at least 6-8 creative or wellbeing sessions with older people in local residential or day service centres between October 2026 and March 2027. 
  • To create an outline budget that includes a breakdown of their fees and materials. 
  • To have previous experience working in health care settings. 
  • To be a professional artist, creative and or wellbeing practitioner (this can include storytelling, gardening, movement/dance, creative writing, photography, craft, visual art and wellbeing therapies). 
  • To attend a maximum of two meetings with all the participating practitioners during the timeframe of the programme. These meetings will be paid for separately.

What do I need to include in this application?
  1. Curriculum Vitae that outlines your experience and ability to work with older people in a healthcare setting.  
  2. A short project description, tell us what the residents/day service attendees will experience in your sessions.  
  3. A budget outline; include your fee for each session, the cost of materials, length of time of each of your sessions and other details that help us understand how you intend to use the budget. 
  4. The name, role and contact details of two referees. Please make sure that one of these people has worked with you on a similar project.
