How to be Energy Smart at Home
As part of the Open House Dublin architecture festival programme, dlr’s Energy Team are hosting an event on Saturday the 14th of October in County Hall, Dún Laoghaire to help you learn how to be ‘energy smart’ at home, to get home energy saving tips and ask the experts your questions.
An Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Councillor Denis O’Callaghan said:
“This event brings together a panel of experts to speak about saving energy at home, accessing grants, understanding energy bills, different tariffs, smart meters and much more. If you would like to reduce your energy bills and make your home more comfortable this winter, then this is the event for you.”
Representatives from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities (CRU), ESB Networks and Codema - Dublin's Energy Agency will explain about home energy and answer your questions. By making simple changes to our daily routine and investing in energy-efficient appliances, we could reduce our energy usage by up to 20%. Being mindful of when appliances are used, and for how long, can conserve energy and help lower bills. Home energy upgrades like insulation and new windows, could lower bills even more and reduce carbon consumption.
Frank Curran, Chief Executive of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, added:
“It’s easy to feel as though our own day-to-day efforts won’t have much of an impact in terms of combating climate change. But in truth, collective action has the potential to bring about big changes, we can all play our part.”
Start your energy-saving journey towards a more comfortable home.
