Cycle Parking

Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council is delighted to announce that funding has been allocated by the National Transport Authority to install cycle parking around the County and now invites Sports Clubs in the County to apply for the cycle parking. This will allow the Council to support an increasing number of Sports Clubs who are promoting active travel among their members and encouraging their members to walk and cycle to training and to games.

To obtain the cycle parking, Sports Clubs are required to complete an online application form by 30th September 2021 and clearly outline where they want the cycle parking, see link here

An Cathaoirleach Cllr Una Power stated,

I welcome this initiative from the Council to supply cycle parking to Sports Clubs around the County. Having good secure cycle parking near pitches or clubhouses is essential to encourage more people to make the decision to cycle to training or to a game.

Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council actively promotes cycling as a safe, healthy, and environmental friendly travel mode and is currently developing a significant number of cycling infrastructure schemes in the County as part of the National Transport Authority Sustainable Transport Measures Grants (STMG) Programme 2021.
