Try Mountain biking at Ticknock National Mountain Bike Trail Centre on Saturday, 10th May.
These FREE sessions aim to introduce Mountain biking as a means of fun, exercise, and exploring the great outdoors that Dublin has on its doorstep.
Riders will be taught the fundamental skills for navigating the MTB trails in a safe and enjoyable way. They will also take a tour of Three Rock Mountain, which offers magnificent skyline views of Dublin city and the east coastline of Ireland.
The National Mountain Bike Trail centre at Ticknock is one of the best Mountain biking sites in Ireland, offering newly opened graded trails of Blue, Red and Black, so all levels of Mountain biking experience are catered for.

Bring your bike and get input on safety skills and getting around on your bike.
11:30 - 12:30 pm - Children's Learn to Cycle:
Come along and see the stages of learning to cycle independently – get tips and find out where to access resources, you may even see a child cycle for the first time. Suitable for 4 years and upwards.
13:00 - 14:00 pm - Children's Skills:
Bring a child along to this session to take part in fun skills which will help them become better at handling their bikes.
14:00 - 15:00 pm - Parent and Child Session:
Come along with your bike and child. Learn skills for cycling with a child, where to position, how to support a child in becoming a confident cyclist, and how to practice safe cycling on the road.

Have you cycled in the past but lost your confidence, or just haven’t been on a bike in years? Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership, in collaboration with The Bike Hub, invites you to rediscover the joy of cycling with our 6-week cycle programme designed for adults aged 55 and over.
This fun and supportive programme will help you get back in the saddle, boost your confidence, and enjoy the many physical and mental benefits of cycling. We’ll guide you through safe cycling techniques in a relaxed environment while you explore some of our local parks and coastal routes.
What’s Included?
- A pre-programme bike safety check (April 29th – May 9th)
- Guided sessions covering safety, cycle preparation, and road skills
- A chance to meet others, stay active, and have fun!

Join the dlr Heritage Officer, Deirdre Black, on an easy guided cycle along the Slang Greenway from Dundrum to Marlay Park. Enjoy new viewpoints on this part of Dublin and hear about the creative innovation of Dun Emer Industries, Slang River nature, local cycling champions, views to mountain top monuments and historic Marlay House.
Assemble at the Ardglas entrance to the Slang Greenway and finish at Marlay Park. Suitable for all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
