We are delighted to announce that Dianne Whyte and Dave Madigan have been selected as the recipients of the 2022 and 2023 Visual Art Commissions. They will receive a €10,000 bursary to create a body of new work which will be exhibited in the dlr Municipal Gallery at dlr LexIcon.
Dianne Whyte’s photographic work 'Fragmented Space: The Office' is an observance of space, in this instance the development of office parks and their already existing architecture. These are challenging times and we have witnessed how these spaces are changing. The stillness during lockdown gave time for contemplation. How are these spaces evolving? They are in a state of flux.

Dave Madigan creates paintings of views of the built environment, often working from birds’ eye’s perspectives, drone photography and plein air painting. Within the work there are subversions, deceptions and exaggerations of urban phenomena hidden in plain sight. He invites the audience to re-assess both the landscape and the objects within it.
