Can a group apply for the full cost of a project/event/activity/initiative?

No, a grant will only cover a percentage of a project and the group must demonstrate the financial capacity to match the funding.

Can a group apply under two categories for the same project/event/activity/initiative to maximise the funding granted?

No, funding will only be awarded to proposals not already covered under another grant category.

Can a Local Authority add a public notice / 3rd party submission element to a Section 254 application?

It is not possible or permissible for DLR, or indeed any Local Authority, to add a public notice and/or 3rd party submission element to the process.

Can a solicitor sign a statutory declaration as a Commissioner of Oaths?

Yes, when s/he is also a Commissioner of Oaths. However, a solicitor shall not exercise these powers in any proceedings in which he is solicitor to any of the parties or in which he has an interest.

Yes, if they are authorised to do so by the building owner.

Can artists bring in storage containers for material storage?

Yes, we can also supply one storage unit for each studio if required. There is no additional storage on site.

Can changes be made to the boundary of a proposed ACA?

If you consider that further adjustment to the boundary of a proposed ACA is required, please make a submission on the Draft Plan.

Can further amendments now be made to the Draft Plan?

The Elected Members may make the Plan with our without the proposed material alterations (amendments) that are currently on display. Only amendments that are minor in nature may be considered for further inclusion in the plan.
Amendments that would be deemed to be material cannot be considered at this stage, these would include, for example a changes to land use zoning or the addition / deletion from the record of Protected Structures.

Can I appeal the decision of the Local Authority?

If you are unhappy with the decision of the Council, you can appeal the decision in writing within three weeks of the date of the original decision, clearly outlining the reasons and grounds for appeal.  Appeals should be sent to the following address and will be assessed by an official who was not involved with the original assessment:
