Recycled Christmas Decoration Competition

 

Every year, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council invites all local primary schools to run a recycled Christmas decoration competition. Each school selects their class champion to represent their school. This year Dún Laoghaire Rathdown recieved nearly 300 decorations! These decorations remind everyone to look for opportunities to to reduce, re-use and recycle. 
 

Prizes were awarded for the following categories:

  • 1st-3rd Place (Junior Infants -1st Class)
  • Special Merit (Junior Infants -1st Class)
  • 1st-3rd Place (2nd-4th Class)
  • Special Merit (2nd-4th Class)
  • 1st-3rd Place (5th-6th Class)
  • Special Merit (5th-6th Class)


Winners were awarded prizes from St. Johns NS, Our Lady of Good Counsel Boys National School, St. Attracta's Junior School,Queen of Angels NS, Sharavogue Junior School, Rathfarnham Educate Together, Harold School, Our Lady's Grove Primary School, Scoil Naithí, Our Lady of Mercy Convent School, St. Andrews Junior School and St. Gerards Junior School


Niamh Moran, Environmental Schools Officer said " I am constantly amazed at the creativity and dedication that goes into every decoration. The decorations submitted were so creative and imaginative and definitely brought the Christmas Spirit to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.”
