Inspired by the Japanese Masters and their depictions of Mount Fuji, artist Mags Harnett created a calendar showing the Sugarloaf Mountain in County Wicklow, Ireland, from a dozen viewpoints. She saw the mountain every morning as she drove through the Scalp from Dublin to Enniskerry. The Japanese were very innovative in their composition and ‘obscured’ views of the mountain showing aspects of contemporary life. They also wrote on their images. Mags enjoyed creating her own series in homage to those artists.
