Oscar Wilde was one of the most brilliant men of the 19th century, but he was however greatly influenced by his beloved mother, Jane Wilde, a remarkable woman in her own right. William O'Brien will examine their complex relationship, revealing how in almost all aspects of his life, Oscar drew on her example to create the larger-than-life persona that both brought him success, but also ultimately disaster.
