Louis de Berniéres in conversation with Martina Devlin

Studio Theatre, dlr LexIcon

Louis de Bernières always knows which novel people are talking about when they tell him: “I’ve read your book.” He has written more than fifteen, but Captain Corelli’s Mandolin is the one people focus on.
He has novels, poetry collections, short stories and children’s fiction under his belt, but the much-loved novel set on a Greek island is his defining work. It doesn’t stop him writing, and the Costa Award-winning author will speak in dlr LexIcon on Thursday, October 19 about his latest novel.
Light Over Liskeard is an entertaining read about a quantum cryptographer convinced a crisis is imminent for civilisation. He buys a ruined farmhouse in Cornwall and begins to build his own self-sufficient haven – a change of pace which brings him back in tune with his teenage children, his ex-wife, and his own sense of who he is.
Louis will be interviewed by writer Martina Devlin.
