Event Description
Summer of Heritage 2026 will commence on the 13th July and run until the 06th September 2026.
Local historians, Michael McShane and Alice Cullen will bring to life the fascinating stories of Killiney Hill and Killiney Village. Killiney Hill began as the private hunting grounds of the Talbot de Malahide family during the reign of Elizabeth I and was renamed Victoria Hill to honour the visit of Queen Victoria to this area. Killiney Village was home to those who worked on the large estates in the locality but later was a staging point for horse and carriages travelling from Kingstown (Dún Laoghaire) to Bray before the railway.
