Event Description

We warmly invite families to join us for a one-hour art workshop that is specially designed for autistic children. This engaging, sensory-rich visual art experience has been informed by a collaboration between the students of Ballyowen Meadows Special School and visual artist Jane Cummins. The mixed media workshop is tailored to embrace and celebrate each child's unique interests, creating a welcoming space for creativity and self-expression for the whole family.

Pre-booking is essential for this workshop and places are limited. To book click here

In order to support your child at the session, once a place is booked, we will share a short survey to understand the needs of participants on the day.

This project is a collaboration between students from the Ballyowen Meadows Special School social group and artist Jane Cummins. Working together over 8-weeks the workshop has been informed by the children's voices and their interests. The children, with artist Jane Cummins, explored themes of identity, with each session incorporating multi-sensory elements. Displayed in the Project Room and installed by the children and Jane will be an exhibition of their work.

Date: Saturday 6 June, 12.00 – 1.00pm

Participants: This workshop will cater for primary school aged autistic children, who, with support, can work collaboratively with their peers. Differentiation will be provided for those who cannot access elements of the workshop.

Location: The Project Room, dlr LexIcon, Moran Park, Haigh Terrace, Dún Laoghaire, A96 H283
