IADT is thrilled to invite young people in Dún Laoghaire to step into a whole new creative dimension this Cruinniú na nÓg!

Immersive Storytelling is an opportunity to explore the art of virtual reality, discover new tools for creative expression, and experience your own drawing in three dimensions.

Time: 2.00 – 3.00pm – Beginner session / 3.00 – 4.00pm – session for those with some experience (including the VR and Gaming Club participants in Ballyogan Library)

For those new to VR or with some experience, this workshop will offer an opportunity to experience different worlds through dlr libraries Rendever Headsets. Participants will then be introduced to Open Brush, a VR painting application that lets you draw, sculpt and create in three-dimensional space using an Oculus Quest headset with controllers. Young people aged 10 and over are invited to step into a virtual canvas, paint in mid-air, bring their own stories to life and then walk around inside them.

This session offers a fantastic opportunity for children to explore immersive technology in a fun, supportive and fully guided environment no experience needed, just curiosity and creativity.

IADT believes strongly in making creative technology accessible to all young people, and this workshop is designed to open doors to a world of storytelling that many participants will be experiencing for the very first time.
