Fifteen portraits of young children in a woodland area arranged in a grid
Event Description

What does it mean to explore where you’re from? To really think about a place? Examine its roots?  Young people from Kilcross Youth Club have been working with theatre artist Louise White since November 2025 to answer these questions.

Using maps, nature walks, games and exercises, they have written songs and stories about the forest beside their estate.

Join us for this intimate performance in Fitzsimon's Wood as part of Cruinnú na nÓg dlr 2026. Expect beautiful surroundings, poems of the future, macho butterflies, dance circles, and songs. Featuring original composition by Michelle O’Rourke, cello performance by Lioba Petrie, and a group of committed young performers, it promises to be a unique and special event.

'The Centre is the Heart' is commissioned by dlr Arts Office, dlr Creative Ireland and dlr CYPSC in partnership with Kilcross Youth Club. It is funded through Creative Ireland’s Cruinniú na nÓg dlr 2026 Programme by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.
