CREATIVE ARTS THERAPY AT THE NRH
Photography plays an important role in rehabilitation at the NRH. It can provide an excellent platform to empower patients, by developing their personal creative skills. It can help restore and rehabilitate a person's level of functioning and independence in life activities following an accident, illness, or injury. Creative Arts Therapy at the NRH incorporates Art and Music Therapy
which are evidence based professions that work within an interdisciplinary team using art and music to support patients in
achieving their rehabilitation goals. Music therapy is the prescribed use of music to effect positive changes in the psychological, physical, cognitive, or social functioning. Art therapy uses arts-based methods and is delivered as a clinical intervention to support and assist patients in breaking barriers to verbal expression, increasing confidence and self-esteem, and reducing stress.
