Senior Housing Welfare Officer

Overview

Join our Housing team as Senior Housing Welfare Officer and play a key role in supporting tenants across dlr.

In this role, you will:

  • Help put housing policies into action, working with different teams to support tenants and keep tenancies running smoothly.
  • Offer practical advice and case support to tenants dealing with financial, family, or personal challenges.
  • Work with other agencies and represent the Council at meetings and forums to make sure services are well‑coordinated.
  • Keep services running well, from supervising staff and coordinating tenancy supports to maintaining records, preparing reports, and handling tasks like court attendance when needed.

 

Required skills and experience include:

  • Third level qualification in Social Studies, Social Care, Social Science or related discipline
  • At least two years post qualification experience working in the area of homeless and/or housing service provision
  • Experience in administrative procedures, office organisation and control of staff
  • Full clean Class B licence
  • Valid work permit, if required

 

We’re looking for someone with strong leadership skills and with the expertise to support tenants and lead effective welfare services.
