We're Hiring: Education Officer (Biosphere)

Join our Heritage and Biodiversity Team as an Education Officer (Biosphere) and help people discover why the Dublin Bay Biosphere is such a special place. Based in DLR, and working across Dublin Bay and the three local authority areas of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, Dublin City and Fingal, you'll develop and deliver education, outreach and awareness programmes that inspire people to connect with nature, biodiversity, heritage and sustainability. 

What is an Education Officer (Biosphere)?

The Education Officer (Biosphere) is responsible for developing and delivering education and outreach initiatives that promote the importance of the Dublin Bay Biosphere. 

As Education Officer (Biosphere), you would:

• Develop and implement education, outreach and awareness programmes that support the Dublin Bay Biosphere and UNESCO Biosphere objectives. 
• Work with schools, communities, businesses, local authority staff and other stakeholders to promote biodiversity, sustainability and climate action.  
• Organise and support events, workshops, talks, nature activities and community engagement initiatives across the Biosphere. 
• Develop educational resources and citizen science projects that encourage people of all ages to learn about and engage with nature. 
• Build partnerships and support collaboration between local authorities, community groups, schools and other organisations. 

We are looking for someone who:

• Meets the minimum educational and experience requirements outlined in the particulars document. 
• Has experience delivering education, awareness or outreach programmes in areas such as biodiversity, environmental education, sustainability or climate action. 
• Can communicate complex environmental topics in an engaging and accessible way to a wide range of audiences. 
• Has strong project management, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills. 
• Is enthusiastic about connecting people with nature and promoting the value of the Dublin Bay Biosphere. 
• Can work independently and collaboratively while building positive relationships with partners and communities
