YOU are invited to The Great #DiscoverIrishKidsBooks Tea Party!
This Ireland Reads Day, no less than eight of Ireland's top children's authors and illustrators are taking over the children's department at the dlr LexIcon Library to throw a magnificent tea party celebrating Irish children's books, curiosity and creativity. What a day we will have!
For starters, doodle Potty Teapots and Cookie Cookies with author and illustrator, Alan Nolan, and design your own geansaí at the Jumper Jamboree/Geansaithe Gleoite with award-winning author, Sadhbh Devlin!
For main course, join famous duo Leona Forde and Karen Harte to make Milly McCarthy’s next adventure at the Magical Milly Doodle Dock, and for the bravest of little ones, become a monster for the day in our Shapeshifter Station with World Book Day author, Kevin Moran.
For dessert, be Snug as a Bug on the Story Time Rug with Ireland’s beloved picture book maker, Mary Murphy. Then pop into the Poetry Factory to have a very special poem written especially for you by Emerging Writer-in-Residence, Ruth Ennis, and enjoy a spot of Wonderlarking with your Tea Party host and Established Writer-in-Residence, Eve McDonnell.
Finish it all off with a cuppa (of cordial!) and a cookie, and to keep your Ireland Reads Day celebrations going, don’t forget to bring your library card or visit the Dubray pop-up shop so you can bring home one of the many brilliant Irish Children’s Books you’ll discover on the day!
