Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council are happy to consider the acquisition/purchase of new, second-hand and vacant homes, as well as homes with a tenant in situ, who has a homeless risk.
For tenant in situ acquisitions, the following criteria, which are not exhaustive, must be met;
- There is a confirmed homeless prevention need.
- There are no properties available within current DLR stock in which to allocate to the tenant.
- The tenant has actively looked for alternative accommodation under the various housing support streams (HAP etc).

FAQ
The Council will consider expressions of interest for 1-4 bed properties.
The Council will arrange for an inspection of the property. If we wish to progress this further, the Council will then also arrange for a structural survey and valuation to be carried out on the property.
The Acquisitions section will establish the suitability of the property and the Council's social housing need in that area. All properties must also meet the Council's Acquisitions Cost Guidelines in order to be progressed.
