Join Dublin’s biggest community clean-up this September!

General News

Residents, volunteers and communities are invited to join Dublin’s anti-litter movement and make a positive impact this September during Dublin Climate Action Week.

Join Dublin’s Biggest ever clean-up event which will take place from the 10th to the 18th of September.

Dublin’s Four Local Authorities, Clean Coasts, National Spring Clean, Local Authority Waters Programme, Dublin City Canals, Dodder Action, Waterways Ireland, residents, volunteers, and community groups county-wide are coming together for Dublin’s largest ever clean-up event this September.

The Dublin Community Clean-up is building on the success of the 2021 event in which over 180 clean-ups took place across the county. This year’s county-wide call to action will take place from the 10th to the 18th of September. Similar to previous years you can either organise your own clean-up or join an existing one that is taking place in your community. All kit will be provided by the Dublin local authorities. Check the Dublin Community Clean Up website for more information www.dublincommunitycleanup.ie

Speaking at the launch, An Cathaoirleach Cllr. Mary Hanafin of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council said;

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown is delighted to be supporting the Dublin Community Clean Up. We have all benefited from spending our time outdoors recently and it’s clear we need to keep our county litter free for all to enjoy. I would encourage our wonderful volunteers to take part in this anti-litter movement. Clean Up events such as the Dublin Community Clean Up empower communities and local authorities to work together but also bring positive change to our environment to benefit all.

So this September, let’s get the whole community involved and from the mountains to the sea we can make Dublin litter-free.
