Have your say on the identification of bathing waters
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is now inviting public participation in the identification of Bathing Waters under the Bathing Waters Directive and the Bathing Water Quality Regulations 2008 (SI No 79 of 2008).
The Directive requires that water quality at all identified bathing waters meets stringent microbiological standards in order to protect the health of people who choose to bathe there. We are required under the 2008 Regulations to identify bathing waters on an annual basis. This consultation process provides the public with an opportunity to:
- Comment on existing identified bathing waters with a view to continuation of classification
- Comment on other bathing waters not currently identified but which may be considered for classification.
Bíodh cead cainte agat in aithint uiscí snámha
Tá cuireadh á thabhairt anois ag Comhairle Contae Dhún Laoghaire-Ráth an Dúin don phobal páirt a ghlacadh in aithint Uiscí Snámha faoin Treoir maidir le hUiscí Snámha agus faoi na Rialacháin maidir le Cáilíocht Uisce Snámha 2008 (I.R. Uimh. 79 de 2008).
Ceanglaítear leis an Treoir go gcomhlíonann cáilíocht an uisce ag na huiscí snámha aitheanta go léir caighdeáin dhochta mhicribhitheolaíocha chun sláinte na ndaoine a roghnaíonn snámh iontu a chosaint. Tá sé de dhualgas orainn faoi Rialacháin 2008 uiscí snámha a aithint ar bhonn bliantúil. Leis an bpróiseas comhairliúcháin sin, tugtar deis don phobal:
- Tuairim a thabhairt maidir le huiscí snámha aitheanta atá ann cheana d’fhonn leanúint leis an aicmiú
- Tuairim a thabhairt maidir le huiscí snámha eile nach bhfuil aitheanta faoi láthair ach a bhféadfaí breithniú orthu lena n-aicmiú.
