Council Announces Round 2 of the dlr Grants Scheme 2021
• Over €230,000 in funding available across all categories
• Includes new Women in Sport grant category
• Applications can be made from 15 March
Following the success of the initial round of the dlr Grants Scheme 2021, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has announced that it will be commencing Round 2 of the Scheme this March.
The dlr Grants Scheme 2021 (Round 2) is designed to support local initiatives which promote growth in the area of community development, events, heritage, environment, arts* and business area promotion in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area.
There is a specific new category in this round, which is focused on women in sport, with Councillors at the 2021 Council Annual Budget meeting arranging for the inclusion of €25,000 in funding for this grant category.
Speaking of the announcement An Cathaoirleach, Councillor Una Power said:
“The dlr Grants Scheme is a really important way for local groups, associations and individuals in our area to seek funding from the Council to develop and expand their initiatives and projects. Programmes like these enable local people to make a real difference in their local areas. I am especially pleased that dedicated funding has been made available in this round for Women in Sport, which will help to encourage the growth and development of women’s teams and clubs across a range of sports.”
