Intro Text

The dlr annual countywide Festival of Inclusion programme kicks off this week, with this year’s theme centred on Our Cultural Heritage: Where the Past Meets the Future. This year’s Festival marks the European Year of Cultural Heritage.

There are over 70 events being held in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown between the 5th and 13th of October 2018, with something on offer for everyone  to enjoy! To see the full brochure of events, click here

The Festival aims to showcase best practice, local community events, highlight social inclusion initiatives, and encourage residents to participate and enjoy getting involved in their community.

There are numerous exciting events, talks, and activities for all to enjoy, and we would encourage you all to get involved, have fun & be a part of the 2018 dlr Festival of Inclusion.

Our Social Inclusion Officer, Joe Connor said the following; “Social Inclusion is about creating a fair and inclusive society, where all members of our community have the opportunity to participate in community life. The programme includes public events that have been developed with the support of many local bodies, and I am particularly pleased to see the co-operative approach between local statutory and voluntary groups to support inclusion in the County.”

An Cathaoirleach Cllr Ossian Smyth said:

I am particularly looking forward to the dlr Community 5k, which has always been a key part of the Festival of Inclusion. Now in its 10th year this event attracts all ages, abilities and backgrounds to take part in a fun and family atmosphere".
