East Pier defibrillator donation by Rotary Dún Laoghaire

Rotary Dún Laoghaire, a local club active in the community, has kindly gifted a defibrillator to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. The defibrillator installation at the end of the East Pier of the Dún Laoghaire Harbour was made possible through a donation from the Tom Speer Bequest, a Past President of the Dún Laoghaire Rotary Club.

Current President of the Rotary Club Bridget Aylmer said that she is proud that Rotary Dun Laoghaire was able to initiate this project. Should the need arise, the defibrillator unit would now be readily available at a time of emergency for any member of the public, who may be taking a stroll along the extremity of the iconic East Pier.

The defibrillator installation was unveiled by An Leas Cathaoirleach Cllr. Deirdre Donnelly, accompanied by the Dún Laoghaire Harbour Operations Manager, Tim Ryan, during the official handover of the unit by Rotary Dún Laoghaire on the East Pier on Thursday 27th June 2019.
