Following on from its application on 12th January 2017 to An Bord Pleanála to amend the Cherrywood Planning Scheme, a decision to approve Amendments 1 - 4 was issued by the Board to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council in June 2017 under Section 17(A) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). These amendments arose from the introduction in December 2015 of the "Sustainable Urban Housing: Design Standards for New Apartments Guidelines for Planning Authorities". The application of the policy standards in these Guidelines resulted in inconsistencies within the approved Planning Scheme which required clarification and amendment. This application included Amendment No. 5 which related to retail sequencing, which was subsequently withdrawn from the statutory process.
