Intro Text

An Bord Pleanála approved 4 Amendments to the Cherrywood Planning Scheme in June 2017 (Amendments Nos. 1 - 4). Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown has indicated to An Bord Pleanála that it will not be proceeding with the proposed Amendment No. 5 relating to retail sequencing and it has accordingly been withdrawn from the statutory process under Section 170(a) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).

Following on from its application on 12th January 2017 to An Bord Pleanála to amend the Cherrywood Planning Scheme, a decision to approve Amendments 1 - 4 was issued by the Bord to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council in June 2017. These amendments arose from the introduction in December 2015 of the "Sustainable Urban Housing: Design Standards for New Apartments Guidelines for Planning Authorities". The application of the policy standards in these Guidelines resulted in inconsistencies within the approved Planning Scheme which required clarification and amendment.

The detail of the Approved Amendments may be accessed by clicking here or under the Related Documents on this page. The Cherrywood Planning Scheme document, as adopted in 2014, will require updating to incorporate the approved amendments and a revised document will be made available shortly. However, in the interim, the Scheme should be read in conjunction with the Approved Amendments document.
