Intro Text 

The Social Development & Inclusion Unit works in partnership with community organisations groups, other Council Departments and public agencies (e.g. Southside partnership, Health service Executive, Community development Projects.) to plan and organise activities that promote the Community Gardens and Growing projects as a means to building social capital in communities.  

The services provided by the Social Development & Inclusion Unit to Inclusion Through Growing include:

  • Provide ongoing support to the Shanganagh Community Garden.
  • Explore the possibility of a Cois Cairn Garden Project with Parks and Community Unit
  • Assist the Parks section with the Shankill Urban Garden Project
  • Explore the development of a Ballyogan Garden Project.
  • Explore the development of a Sensory Garden in the county.
