The main role of the Social development and Inclusion Unit is to develop a range of supports for communities and organisations that seek to promote a more socially inclusive Dun Laoghaire Rathdown.
The Social Development & Inclusion Unit supports the development of strategic planning and co-ordination structures to identify key priority social development and social Inclusion issues in the county and promote collaborative actions with the various organisations to address these issues.
The Social Development & Inclusion Unit works internally with Council Departments on a range of initiatives to improve the accessibility and inclusiveness of DLR Council services.
The unit also links with support services provided by other external agencies in the County promoting social development and social inclusion.
The work of the Unit can be summarised under 2 core objectives
