Intro Text

dlr and Waterford City and County Council are seeking low cost, innovative, technological solutions in the form of products, services of applications to address timely identification and communication of bathing water quality. A successful outcome would result in key information being made available to bathers to allow them to make an informed decision as to whether or not they should swim in a particular area. There is €200,000 in funding available for this challenge.

Fiona Craven, Senior Executive Engineer, Cleansing and Beaches Section, dlr commented, "Bathers want real-time information on water pollution risks at swimming locations so that they can make informed decisions about where to swim. Finding improved solutions for sharing information on bathing water quality will help bathers protect their health and provide valuable data to Local Authorities and Irish Water, helping to inform decision making on beach and wastewater network improvements".

We are hosting a briefing session for all prospective applicants wishing to learn more about this challenge.  It will be held on the 30th of May in the Royal Marine Dun-Laoghaire. Register here

The closing date to apply for this is 13th July (12noon) 2018 and can be found on the etenders website
