New Housing at Shanganagh to provide 597 homes
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the Land Development Agency welcome the decision of the Elected Members to approve the disposal of part of the lands at Shanganagh to the Land Development Agency, for the development of 306 cost-rental homes. A total of 597 new homes will be developed on the site, including 200 social and 91 affordable sale. The development is currently the largest social and affordable scheme with planning permission in Ireland.
The site occupies approximately 9 hectares adjacent to Shanganagh Castle, Shanganagh Park and Castle Farm and will be within 10 minutes’ walk of the proposed DART station at Woodbrook and BusConnects route on the nearby Dublin Road (N11).
The procurement process to appoint a contractor will commence in the New Year.
