Following the successful launch of the DLR Age Friendly Strategy 2016 -2020, Dún Laoghaire- Rathdown County Council (DLRCC) now has a small limited fund available for suitable local Age Friendly initiatives and actions.

DLRCC invites  funding applications from local community groups and organisations for such Age Friendly  initiatives or actions which can be delivered during 2016. DLRCC is committed to reducing or minimising the negative effects of loneliness and isolation experienced by older people, living in our county and with that objective in mind, invites funding applications from community groups and organisations who wish to develop projects or initiatives which have the potential to reduce or minimise loneliness and isolation in their own local communities. A panel of assessors will be created to evaluate all applications received.

The criteria used to assess applications will include:

 - The numbers of older people who benefit from the proposal

 - The appropriateness/suitability of the project

 - The potential impact on the quality of life of the older people

 - The scalability or repeatability of the project

 - The level of potential collaborative  engagement with other stakeholders

 - The sustainability of the project  

Submissions should be made in writing and addressed to Pat Coffey, Social Inclusion Officer and Age Friendly Programme Coordinator, County Hall, Marine Road Dún Laoghaire. The closing date for the receipt of applications is 17:00 on Friday 10th June 2016
