Councillor Devlin (36), serves as a member of 'Environment, Climate Change & Energy' and ‘Social Housing’ Strategic Policy Committees. He also serves on the Dún Laoghaire Area Committee, the Association of Irish Local Government, Dalkey Heritage Town Company, Joint Policing Committee, Mounttown Community Development and Southside Partnership DLR
Councillor Devlin was educated at Harold Boys National School, Dalkey, Presentation College, Glasthule, the Institute of Public Administration and the Institute Public Relations. He is married to Jennifer Allen Devlin and they have three young children.
Speaking at the AGM, the newly-elected Cathaoirleach outlined his priorities for his term, including tackling the housing crisis, promoting civic engagement and supporting local enterprise throughout the County. “I am honoured and privileged to be elected as Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown by my fellow councillors. There is a long history and tradition attached to this position and I very much look forward to carrying out my role on behalf of the people of our county over the next twelve months.”
Councillor Shay Brennan was also elected Leas Chathaoirleach at the meeting. Councillor Brennan, a representative of the Fianna Fail Party, was elected in the Dundrum Electoral Area in 2014. He was educated at Blackrock College and UCD, and holds a BA in Economics and a MBS in Financial Services and career spans a range of roles in the financial services industry. Shay grew up in Dundrum and has been active in local politics, policy and community work for over two decades.
